WARNING: This kit contains items that can be used to tattoo human skin. This setup is designed for people to learn how to tattoo by practising on mediums like practice skin, pigs skin and thick skinned fruits. Human skin is NOT a practicing medium and tattoos are PERMANENT, so if you do not have any experience or qualifications to do skin work, DO NOT use the items in this kit to perform a tattoo. If you are serious about becoming a professional tattoo artist, a proper apprenticeship with a professional tattoo studio is the time honored way of becoming one. This kit will not make you a professional tattoo artist overnight but it will give you the tools you need to learn and practice to become one.

Hildbrandt .444 Marlin Shader
The .444 Marlin is one of the more popular machines from Hildbrandt Tattoo Supply. It comes standard with our 2008 and later kits. It was featured in a Czechoslovakian tattoo magazine in February of 2008. Factory setup The twin frame of the .444 Marlin is the .38 Calibre. Factory setup as a 10 wrap slower shader, better suited for accuracy. 10 wrap coils, 33mm height, 22uf capacitor, 50WV. Weight is 230 grams/8 ounces.
Hildbrandt .30 Carbine Liner
The Hildbrandt .30 Carbine tattoo machine is an excellent liner. The .30 Carbine is built with a compact frame design that allows for a rapid punch that is ideal for lining and color packing. This frame design started its first production in late 2006 and was a spin off from the already successful .44 Magnum and .357 Magnum models. The compact 8 wrap coils and short springs allow this machine to run at turbo speeds. If you are looking for something slower for lining, consider the .44 Magnum or .22 Rimfire. The weight of this machine is 230 grams/8 ounces. The material of the frame is low carbon steel that is coated with a dark metallic chrome finish. Size is 3.5 x 3.5”. 8 wrap coils, 32.5mm height, 22uf capacitor, 63WV.
Hildbrandt Spartan Power Supply with an output of 1.5V-18V, 2 AMP. This rugged and reliable power supply design has been a mainstay of Hildbrandt since 2006. It features a 10 turn dial adjustment knob that allows for incrementally precise voltage adjustments.

edgar lozada –
hi im edgar from morelia michoacan mexico im insterested in one of your tatto kits, but i want to know where are you located and where are the machines made, im really interested thank you
newton –
Hello Edgar, our Inkstar and Valsturd machines are imported from China. The Hildbrandt machines are assembled in Canada. As for importing to Mexico, be aware that you must have a special medical license in order to import tattoo equipment and supplies into Mexico. If you do not have this medical license, you will not be able to receive your order. If you do order, make sure you check with Mexican customs first where and how to obtain the medical license before you buy. We are not responsible for any loss as a result of the importer not having the proper documents to receive the goods they order.
Michael Magpantay –
Hi there my name is Michael and I would like to ask if HILDBRANT where able to ship a kit in the Philippines before, cause I would like to purchase a tattoo kit one this month. Thank you very much for your reply!
newton –
Yes we are able to ship to the Philippines, 7-12 business day via USPS Priority
Vivian –
Hi,
I am Vivian from Singapore. I am interested in your Hildbrandt Starter Tattoo Kit. I understand that the Hildbrandt machines are assembled in Canada. But I would like to know where are their parts from and how do I go about importing the machine into Singapore?
Thank you.
newton –
Hello Vivian, the various parts that make up a Hildbrandt coil machine come from Canada, China and the USA. As for importing to Singapore, I would first suggest speaking with Singapore Customs Office to make sure you are allowed to import tattoo equipment related products into the country. We can certainly ship to Singapore and we have done so in the past, but it is always best to be safe to make sure you can import something before you order, lest you encounter problems with the item in transit. Please contact us via email at support@tattoomachineequipment.com if you have additional questions!
Keagan –
Hi, i am interested in the hildbrandt kit and am wanting to know if you guys will ship to South Africa?… if not is it possible to buy the kit from SA and ship it to the UK and what are the shipping costs? and what are the complications if any?
newton –
We can only ship to South Africa if the payment is via Western Union, we are unable to accept credit cards from that region.

Hamletiano –
Hi there,
Im planning to learn how to tattoo…I have been checking a couple of kits and this one seems to be fine.
Is it shipped to Belgium? how much for the shipping? How long does it take? Customs fees?
Is there any other kit you would recommend for a newbie?
Thx in advance.
newton –
Hello there, the Hildbrandt kits are a good well rounded setup where you can learn and use the machines for professional work. Our less expensive kits, while can do skin work, will lack the kind of performance our Hildbrandts can do, which has been compared to machines of much higher dollar value. We do ship to Belgium, to ship this kit there, it would cost $80 via USPS International Priority 7-12 business day delivery. As for customs fees, unfortunately we are not familiar with Belgium customs requirements so I would not be able to answer that.
nicholas cole –
i been trying to buy the hildbrant pro. system for a couple days no i bought a re-loadable online debit card which i use to pay my bills and make purchases never had any problems buying things online except at this site hopefully you can fix that for me its a Walmart money-card w MasterCard i have $250.00 on it but your site declines me when i try buying that kit…..also i did your “like” hildbrant on Facebook and sent the email to like@tattoomachineequipment.com and haven’t got a response on that either
newton –
Is what you have the temporary card that they issue for you prior to mailing you the main one? If it is, it may not work, but the official card should.
dave honeydewmelloncamp –
Hildbrant,
Couple questions: Can the Hildbrant machines/kits be used on skin, or are they practice equipment only? What are the driving differences between the traditional coil and rotary guns and who should prefer which one (style, level of experience)? What does the tattoo instructional video and booklet cover (i.e. tuning, eqpt set up and tear down, techniques, etc.). Also, I live in Canada, are there any random issues or items to note regarding shipping?
Thanks!
newton –
The Hildbrandt machines/kits are unique in that they can be used for practice, apprenticeship and professional work. If you would like to see some great works done using Hildbrandt machines, have a look here. Coil machines have a bit of a learning curve, but will have more room for adjustments to how the machine can run. Rotary machines are usually plug and play as in you plug them in and they run, without requiring much adjustment. They are limited to the job they are built for. The instructional DVD and booklet covers tuning, setup, techniques, etc.. Our head office is in Canada, we have never encountered issues shipping within our own country.
Joe –
I bought this around February. I am very happy with the kit. A lot of information in the crash course 101 and the Tattoo book. Will buy from again.
Kyle –
Im Switching from inkstar to your hildbrant machines. Are they hand wound coils? and also how many Pre-sterilized disposable tube grips come with this kit?
newton –
The Hildbrandt Coils are mechanically hand wound, as in, we don’t have a coil in hand wrapping it with copper wire, we put the core on a spinning machine and the copper wire is fed around it by hand. Pre-sterilized Blister packed tube grips & Tubes. 2 to 3 grips per needle type. 25 blister packed sterilized plastic tubes, corresponds with each needle type that comes with the kit. Pre-sterilized, save these for skin work.
Victor Romero –
Hi. I’m victor from Chicago I have an inkstar machines and I would say they’re just fine , but I’d like to know what would be the difference between hildbrandt and inkstar machines , can u tell me that..?
thank u . And i appreciate ..
newton –
Hello Victor, Inkstar machines are designed by Hildbrandt but are imported. Hildbrandt machines are designed by Hildbrandt and are assembled in Canada. Hildbrandt machines, despite their low price, has been compared in performance to be equivalent to high dollar machines.
dvir –
Hello I interested in purchasing the kit,
My question is: can you send it via standard air mail to Israel?
Thanks
Dvir
newton –
We can ship to Israel but we have experienced problems with Israeli customs agency to ship tattoo equipment there. So we highly recommend that you check with your customs agency to see if there are any restrictions for this product and if there will be any import taxes.
Matt –

newton –

Sebastian –
Hi, can you ship this kit to Chile? how much?
Regards
newton –
Shipping to Chile is $80 via USPS Priority International 7-12 business days. You may have some taxes to pay when you receive the kit, you should check with your countries customs agency to make sure how much it may be.
Emily –
Hi, I was just wondering if this item can be shipped to Australia? and would you recommend just getting the professional kit to start with rather than getting this one?
Thank you.
newton –
We can ship to Australia, takes 7-12 business days via USPS International Priority. The Pro kit and the Starter are quite similar, however the Pro comes with 1 extra machine and a dual machine power supply which would make it more versatile in the way you can setup the equipment.
b-wry –
First of all, thanks for fielding questions about this kit in your “reviews” section. That is quite gracious in my opinion.
I would like to order this kit, but I will be moving overseas and will not be able to re order the small items that I may need to replenish. Can you tell me or give me some advice on what I might want to order extra if I would like to do say 100 tattoos without re-ordering? Thank you and you can expect a full review of this kit after I have tried it out!
newton –
That is a tough question bud. Would need to know where you are at in terms of your apprenticeship/training and what kind of work your doing like mostly B&G or color and how large are the pieces you intend to do. The main things you would need to replenish are the needles, tubes, ink, sterilization supplies and workstation supplies. For 100 tattoos, that is going to be a lot of supplies!
Lucas –
Hi, I’m from Argentina and in a few days I am traveling to America and wanted to buy this kit. I need a license to buy?
newton –
No, you do not necessarily have to have a license to buy.
Mark Matafeo –
Do you ship to NZ?
newton –
Yes we can ship to New Zealand. 7-12 business day via USPS.
Graciela –
what is the weight for this kit????
newton –
This kit is 4kg in weight
Jason –
Hello I’m interested in buying this kit
possible shipment to Ecuador
shipments have been made to my country, and what is the price of shipping?
newton –
Yes we can ship to your country, 7-12 business days via USPS International Priority. We can only accept Western Union payment for shipments going to your country. Shipping cost is $78.01.
HERNANDO CHAN –
Regards, my interest is in the starter kit system. Do you ship to Panama? what will be the freight?
how long will it take to panama?
Hernando Chan
newton –
Yes we ship to Panana, the shipping is 78.01 USD to ship this to Panana 7-12 business day with USPS Priority
Wes –
Why is the shipping so expensive from you guys to California ??? And also how com if I order 2 items I get charged shipping on both separately ?
newton –
The larger kits, ie. this one, are designed to fit specifically to ship using a USPS Large Flat Rate box, the shipping cost is the cost of that shipping cost plus the fees involved with our respective shipping program that automates the shipping labels and handling. The reason 2 of these larger kits will cost double the shipping cost is because it is calculated on 2 large flat rate boxes.
Vadim –
Please advise are You working with customers from Rissia?
Can you send a kit to the Russia?
All best to You.
newton –
We have shipped to Russia before but we have had problems with Russia customs agency, so we urge that you contact Russian customs agency to ensure they will allow this item to be imported before you order.
Emmanuel –
Hi, I live in Las Vegas and I would like to know if I need any medical licens to buy this product, in case I do, which ones, and how can I get them?
Ps. I dont have a studio nor I intend to tattoo anyone. Thank you.
newton –
I am sorry but I am not familiar with the licenses required in the State of Las Vegas. However, most state licenses only cover whom can tattoo and health regulations, not whom can own a tattoo equipment or supply product. If your intention is to buy this setup for the purpose of practicing and learning how to tattoo (without actually tattooing someone), you would not be breaking any laws.
Sash –
Hello! Is it possible to ship this kit to Ukraine and how much is it? Thank you.
newton –
We can ship to Ukraine but you should check if it is legal to import tattoo equipment there as some European countries have restrictions.
greg –
I am getting ready to order this kit next week along with alot of other items from this site. So far I have been all over the web looking for the best kit for the money and so far this looks to be the one. More than anything I have noticed that this brand is covered by great support which is a key thing for me. I’m really looking forward to working with this company. By the way this has to be the easiest site to get around on.

roger –
Hi.
Can I use the hildbrandt starter kit for training and actual skin work or il have to order a diffrent set of inks and machines as the inkstars because i have read that I cant use the inkstar inks on real skin. That they are just for training.
Pleas elaborate on that.
Nancy L. –
Hello Sir,
Thank you for your inquiry. Our Inkstar line is for beginner and apprentices, and the equipment that comes in our Inkstar line is meant to provide much practice before moving on to professional equipment.
Our Hildbrandt Line is our professional line and does come with all the equipment suited to use on human skin, including ink. Of course both kits do come with much educational material to help with any questions the artist may have.
So if you are looking for a kit that you are able to use with human skin and not just practicing, then the Hildbrandt kits are the way to go.
Thank you
Nancy
bryan –
I recently bought this kit and I admit I’m pleased with everything. Its an incredible learning experience, and a challenge to understand the whole aspect of modern tattoo(but who doesn’t love a challenge). The customer service was great and helped me get what I was looking for so I’ll definitely get my supplies here.
Nancy L. –
Hello Sir,
Thank you very much for your kind comment. Please do feel free to contact us if we can be of any assistance in the future.
Thank you
Nancy
Aaron H –
Im looking to buy this and i wanna know how good the machines are ive been looking at this kit and the professional kit also and i like this one cuz it a bit more cheeper and i want a good kit with good running machines and power suply if u can answer my question id really appreciate it thanks!!!!
Nancy L. –
Hello,
Thank you for your inquiry. Both the professional kit you mentioned and the Started kit you selected comes with our professional machines, power supplies and equipment. The only difference is that the professional kit comes with an extra machine and a dual power supply, other wise both kits are quite similar. So it really depends on how many machines you are looking for, and if you wish to go with a dual or single port power supply.
Thank you
Nancy
Nick –
I’ve been pondering on a kit from you guys for quite some time now and was wondering if there would be any hitches with delivery living in Toronto, ON, Canada ?
I know in Mexico you have to have certain documents in order and I haven’t been able to find any solid information on what’s necessary to order a kit in Ontario.
Thanks a bunch in advance!
Nick
Nancy L. –
Hello,
Thank you for your inquiry. We have two locations, including one in BC Canada. So not to worry, shipping to Ontario is no problem at all. And because we are shipping within Canada, there shouldn’t be any customs complications. And just to provide you a delivery time frame from BC to ON it typically takes 5 to 7 business days.
Thank you
Nancy
Angel Mercado –
Are the bobbins wrapped in real copper or just copper coated over some cheap metal wire and is the post just plastic too? Sorry if I’m asking but i dont want to purchase a tattoo machine with cheap chinese imported parts.
newton –
It is wrapped in CCA copper wire. The post is steel.
Angel mercado –
Can you direct me to some tattoo machines with pure copper wrapped coils please.
newton –
All of the Borg, Union, Feldman, Mickey Bee, Daniel Labonte, Relentless Irons, Deadnuts, Pittsburgh Irons and TTS machines are not using CCA Copper so they would be the choice for that.
Shaun –

Julia –
Is there a video that shows how to set up this exact kit? the one that it comes with doesn’t have the same machines, and is not very helpful at all
Nancy L. –
Hello Julia,
Thank you for your inquiry. I really do apologize but we do only have the one video that we include in all of our kits. So the video may not include the exact same machine as the one you are using but the set up process for the machines should not differ. If it helps, the book that comes with the kit on page 6 does show exactly how to set up a tattoo machine, and it does include pictures as well for reference.
Thank you
Nancy
Ed –
i am interested in this kit. I do have a question as to where the ink is from? Is it made in the USA or Canada or is it imported from China or another country? Is there a certificate of origin for it?
thx
Ed~
Nancy L. –
Hello,
Thank you for your inquiry. The ink included in the kit is made in USA and the brand is Radiant Colors. There isn’t any certificate included, but the ink is stamped “made in USA”. And Radiant is a very reputable brand in USA, so if you google them, you should be able to find much information on them.
Thank you
Nancy
Konstantinos –
Hello, i have just ordered this product to Greece, i have two questions, how long does it take from the day i ordered until i receive my kit? And do i have to pay any taxes or other additional fees for importing this product from Canada?
Nancy L. –
Hello,
Thank you for your inquiry. The usual shipping time from USA to Greece is 10 to 15 business days if there are no custom delays once the package arrives into your country’s customs agency. Please note that any delays with customs are beyond our control, and if there are any delays the delivery time frame will have to be extended to accommodate the delay.
As for tax, every country does have different import tax and regulations, so i do apologize im not sure how much it is to have the goods imported from USA to Greece. The best way to find out would be to contact Greece’s customs agency.
Thank you
Nancy
Julian –
I was not expecting much due to the price but these were some decent machines for what they cost. The power supply is pretty basic but functional. The ink seems to be working well, I am still waiting for the test tat to fully heal. The rest of the stuff in the kit is usable and I have no complaints about them, except for maybe the practice skin, seems hard to use. The best part is really just the machines, my tattoo artists buddies were shocked when I told them what they cost me. Overall I’m really happy!
Valentali –
i have been doing tattoos now for about 6 yrs didnt have much money to buy a real good kit so gave this one a try and was happy at how well it worked there was a few very small issues however but they are not serious enough to leave any negative or mention on this order all in all was a very good buy and i would definately not hesitate to buy again keep up the great prices
Ray Charnock –
Real nice tattoo kits these.quality and price to suit
Miles Laughlin –
The set is great
Kyle –
This kit is packed with stuff. The machines are great quality for the price.
