Hello professionals and aspiring artists, we welcome you all to review the Hildbrandt tattoo artists gallery, featuring ink laid by talent from all over the world, using Hildbrandt tattoo machines. This gallery was created in late 2006 in response to tattoo forum bickering and anecdotal reviews by our awesome supporters and our not-so-awesome doubters. It was a morale booster for us to read good reviews for our products, however, when we read a bad one, it stung and so we came up with the perfect solution in response.
They say a picture is worth a thousand words, so our thinking was that if we had hundreds, maybe even thousands of pictures of ink done by artists using our Hildbrandt tattoo machines, we reasoned it would be worth millions of words. So began a decade-long process of encouraging our customers to send us pictures of their amazing work, done with our machines. So before y’all make a decision based on some dude’s lacklustre review, come here and have a look at the amazing tattoos done by talented artists all over the world with our equipment!
Back in those days, no one in the industry had even remotely heard of us and the industry was awash in fresh new startups. This was the time before needle cartridges, Miami Ink was the hottest show since Friend’s, before Ink Master, before Eternal Ink became popular, before Kat Von D became really famous and my god even before the Great Recession of 2008. This means 1 of many things: We are getting old, the world is constantly changing around us, this industry is innovative, I have no chance with Kat Von D and Miami ink was really a great show. Anyway, please have a look at what a decade-plus of collecting pictures of works done using our machines looks like:

Steve Wade, Epic Tattoo Supplies, UK
This is a real treat from Steve Wade, owner of Epic Tattoo Supplies in the UK and sole distributor of Hildbrandt tattoo machines and products in the UK. Its funny because I had no idea Steve had such talent, with work like this, the guy could pursue a career in laying ink. All these portraits were done on pigskin and I believe he said the Hildbrandt Executioner or Assassin? Correct me if I’m wrong Steve. Steve said he doesn’t do much skin work, just inks a pigskin every now and then for fun. I think the guy should definitely pursue opening up his own shop some day, preferably still selling our machines and running a shop at the same time though haha. Find out more about Steve Wade in our blog!
Mike Baxter
Mike Baxter is a great guy that we love hearing from. The work he shares with us are tattoo designs that are done on hog skin. I’ve never used hog skin to practice doing a tattoo before but looking at his work, I would definitely recommend using it if your looking to practice how to tattoo on something similar in texture and epithelial layers like human skin. I just don’t know where the hell your going to find a hog.

Erick Stylez wowed us with these pieces, the color and the detail just pops out at you!
Dennis “Hoss” Fowkes of Sacramento, CA
Comments: “These were lined with my .38 Calibre and shaded with the .223 Remy. I have several other machines, all purchased then customized by me..sometimes I would just re-wrap the coils, I do add an 1/8″ mono plug to my machines (I prefer these to clipcords). However, when I got my Hildbrandts I dug out one of my clipcords and sat down to start the tedious task of tuning. I made sure I had some good music on and laid out my tools, I was getting ready for the long haul. I’ve had machines that had taken me more than an hour to just get them to where I liked what I was hearing.
In 15 MINUTES I had both machines purring, with almost no vibration through my wrist and the machine wouldn’t get hot. I tried everything I could think of, including cranking the voltage up…even when they were jackhammering away the vibration was still very minimal. They’re also well balanced, I can “comfortably” get these machines into spots that would wear my wrist out in no time.
Its really nice, for not only me but my clients, when we don’t have to take a break due to me..With these machines, the weight, balance, vibration and heat, I am able to work only stopping when the client needs to. “

Fantastic value for money, and the fast postal delivery time is second to none. I have used the more expensive machines, but they don’t compare with these, they are very user friendly, and light too, matched up with the Hildbrandt digital power supply, you can’t go wrong! I will be ordering more soon! Thanks a million”

Andrew Potts of Walk Alone Tattoo
Comments: “Here it is a few things that I’ve compiled together I’ve been tattooing for about 6 years, numerous shops, and I’ve had the opportunity to use 300.00 and 400.00 dollar machines and there was no difference with those and mine, but still to this day I have my Hildebrandt with considerable modifications. It has not required more of my time than any other besides basic tuning and maintenance. Very easy to work with and always feels comfortable in my hand. In this industry, you have to do what feels right for you.”

And that is all we have, like a couple hundred pictures of tattoos done using Hildbrandt tattoo machines and our lower line of Inkstar and the old Valsturd. So if anyone ever asks about reviews about our brand or company, tell them to skip the tattoo forums and send them over to our artists gallery, because a picture IS worth a thousand words and we have like hundreds of pictures of work done here, so thats like millions of words!
Kudos to you dear reader that have scrolled all the way down here because you have just spent about 20 minutes of your life (no take backs!) scrolling through a decade of works done using our machines. To all of the artists that have supported us over the years, its been a great honor and I sincerely hope we will be a part of your work, always. Mark, Newt, me and our team have nothing but respect and mad love for all of you that have kept our little business alive and well for, holy crap, a decade! You know when we first started out, this was just a side business that was supposed to pay for our student loans? Just thinking about it gets me a little teary eyed. We have had some great times everyone, lets rock on!
